Were Can I Advertize a Great Dane Fundraiser?

Friday, November 21st, 2008

I have a great dane with Demodex and I have put her on Craigslist, Kijiji and petfinder.

She is a recent rescue… Kinda a forced rescue I do not have the room or money for her as I have 8 danes of my own. I have started a fundraiser to help pay the vet bills I am already $300 in the negitave and my vet said if this continues by next year I could be $1500 in the negitive. Rescues wont take her. I have tried 8 so far in my state and neighboring states….Half of them were rude about it.

I need advice on what to do next.. I do not feel this is something that she should be put down for…

If anyone wants to donate dirrectly to my vet I have their number and address so you can speak with them.

Here is the link to her fund, pics there too.

You can go to all your local pet stores and leave a flyer with her name and the situation .. all the same things you have posted online and make sure to include a picture! She is just soooo cute!
I think you have the right idea by having payments made directly to the vet, in her name. People are less likely to donate to you as an individual, as they may be wary of where the money is actually going. You could also try setting up a fund in her name, get all the appropriate ID numbers you need (I think someone at your bank would be able to help you set this up and get everything on the up and up)
Also, local businesses may be willing to help you throw a fund raiser for her. We do fundraisers around here for many different causes and many times bars are the first to offer their place of business as a place to hold the event. I am also thinking maybe there are groomers in your area that may be willing to help point you in the right direction or maybe have a day where say 10% of their proceeds will be donated to her fund, if you get people to bring their animals there on that day. You won’t know unless you ask them .. I do hope she gets everything she needs!
Best of luck to you and this beautiful baby!

I Rescued a Great Dane Aprox 3.5 Years Old Left to Starve He Weighs 93 Pounds Should Weigh Aprox 220?

Friday, November 14th, 2008

he has a long cut on his tounge, where a rottie got him along with other cuts, what would be best to fed him to put weight on him?

I’d speak with a vet AND a dane rescue rep. From the vet, you want nutritional advice. Most vets do not recommend the greatest quality food, so you want to know what to look for, not brands.
The rescue rep has probably seen this before and can give you more specific advice for danes.

You don’t want to overload his system, and you CERTAINLY don’t want to promote bloat.

Great Dane Swimming in the Swimming Pool

Thursday, November 13th, 2008

My great dane puppies swimming in our swimming pool. Had a close call, the smaller one fell in and almost drowned, so we taught them to swim. Now they both get in and swim on their own all the time.
